We all click “I agree,” but to what are we agreeing?

Apple iTunes Installer.

Nearly every software vendor uses some form of the click-through agreement [CTA] as part of the installation process. Yet this important and contractually binding information is presented in an unreadable, unusable, and unintuitive format.

Within this site, I explore the state of the CTA today, the information it contains, and how it may be presented in a readable, comprehensible manner through the application of graphic design. This project began as my MFA Graphic Design thesis at the Savannah College of Art and Design [SCAD], and continues today.

Dry? Yes. Exciting? No. Useful? Hopefully.

At best, perhaps software vendors and their legal teams might review and revise their CTAs for the sake of their customers. At worst, you've just wasted two minutes. At the very least, you might find out what you're agreeing to when you click "I Agree."
